Through a mix of case-studies, theory and self-reflection the course will create space for participants to think deeply about their leadership style, what the role entails, what they will bring to it and how to set themselves up for success.
Effective school leaders are an important factor for teachers’ self efficacy, wellbeing, job satisfaction and retention. It is essential, therefore, that those considering stepping into Headship, seek first to understand what factors comprise ‘effective school leadership’.In the face ofthe nationalretention and recruitment crisis in teaching, this has perhaps never been a more vital role. It also comes with increasing pressures.
From understanding the regulatory landscape to setting strategy to managing finances and the complexities of stakeholder relationships, the course will equip participants with an understanding of their duties in these areas, the challenges and the rewards of Headship.
