During this training Lorraine will highlight the key aspects of a fully inclusive school including the school vision and ethos, teaching and learning, the environment, staffing and thinking outside the box!
Ofsted have recently announced that they will be changing the inspection framework in September 2025 to include a new inclusion criterion on the proposed report card.
“At the core of the new framework will be a commitment to increase the inspectorate’s scrutiny of how well schools are meeting the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils, with a specific focus on inclusion”
Many schools are already very inclusive but what impact will this new criterion have on our schools? In this conference Lorraine will look at what does it mean to be an Inclusive school and what do we need to do to ensure we are meeting the needs of the most complex and vulnerable young people in our schools.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Senior Leaders, Inclusion Leads, SENCOs, Assistant SENCOs and those aspiring to the role should attend.
KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the Masterclass, you will understand:
The term Inclusion and what it means for schools
That all schools have a duty to provide the best education they can for all pupils
That this is about embedding an inclusive ethos throughout the whole school
That some staff will need more support than others to ensure this is embedded across the school
That the environment, the curriculum, adaptations and adjustments are just part of the inclusion agenda
That not all children and young people can access mainstream education but the majority can
That in order to make things change we sometimes have to think outside the box!
