The Developing Leadership Programme is a full-day course designed to support school business professionals and support staff who are currently in, or aspire to, leadership roles. The programme focuses on building essential leadership skills, enhancing personal effectiveness, and developing the confidence needed to lead and manage teams successfully within a school environment. Led by Nickii Messer, the programme draws on her extensive experience working with school support teams, and is structured to provide practical insights and strategies for leadership development.
Throughout the day, participants will engage in a series of interactive sessions, covering key leadership themes such as managing change, developing team leadership, and strategic planning. By the end of the programme, participants will have a clear understanding of how to apply their learning to lead effectively, improve team performance, and contribute to the strategic direction of their school.

FACILITATOR
Nickii formed her company, All The Geese, in 2009 to specialise in training, developing, and promoting support staff management and leadership. A well-known national and international conference speaker and author, with many years’ experience as a school business leader across three school phases, Nickii was instrumental in working with the National College to launch the SBM role and associated training programmes. Nickii is intensely aware of the ever-growing pressure on school business and support staff professionals and is keen to help colleagues at all levels develop the leadership skills and confidence to embrace the ever more complex challenges they face. Nickii is a mentor, MAT governor, and works for Best Practice Network leading a team of end point assessors for the SBPL4 Apprenticeship
