Developing a Robust Safeguarding Culture

Tue, 1 Apr 2025

Virtual, Online

Develop a robust safeguarding culture founded in the belief that “it could happen here.” This workshop equips participants with practical strategies to align with statutory guidance, safeguard children online and offline, and foster proactive, transparent practices to safeguard children and ensure suitability of those in a position of trust.

A robust safeguarding culture begins with the belief that “it could happen here.”

This approach empowers vigilance, timely response, and an unwavering commitment to the protection and well-being of every child. The workshop will explore how to align safeguarding practices with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and statutory guidance, establish a proactive safeguarding mindset, and embed professional curiosity to identify and address subtle signs of harm. Participants will also learn to safeguard children both online and offline by implementing robust digital measures, ensuring secure environments, and empowering children to voice concerns.

Key areas will also focus on delivering effective, scenario-based training that addresses emerging risks, promoting open communication, and enabling effective information sharing. Additionally, the programme will provide clear strategies for timely action, including robust reporting protocols, safer recruitment practices, and the management of low-level concerns. By equipping participants with practical tools and actionable insights, the workshop aims to create safe, resilient environments where safeguarding is central to every decision.

FACILITATOR
Caroline believes in giving a everyone the opportunity to learn the skills to keep safe. After 9 years as a primary school educator, she understands the issues and complexities that pupils and staff face in the education sector and has a passion for change, as well as a drive to ensure that the children of today have a safer future.

Throughout her career, Caroline has been responsible for managing and supporting children and families but at the forefront has been the devotion to understanding that every family, every child and every carer is different and has different needs.
