Virtual, Online

The “Building Positive Relationships for SEND Behaviour Management” course is meticulously designed for educators working with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Recognising the unique challenges faced within this context, the course seeks to equip practitioners with the necessary skills and strategies to foster positive relationships that are essential for effective behaviour management and overall educational success. Understanding that behaviour serves as a form of communication, the course begins by exploring the principles of behaviour management, emphasising the importance of establishing trust and rapport with students. Participants will learn how positive relationships enhance the learning environment and promote appropriate behaviours, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture.

A significant focus will be on understanding the diverse needs of students with SEND. Educators will learn to recognise the specific challenges these students may encounter, such as communication difficulties and emotional regulation. This understanding will highlight the necessity of individualised approaches to behaviour management, tailoring interventions to meet each student’s unique needs.

The course will also underscore the importance of collaboration with parents, caregivers, and other professionals in establishing a holistic support network. Participants will engage in discussions on effective strategies for fostering partnerships with families, ensuring consistent behaviour management approaches at school and home, ultimately enhancing student outcomes.
