Join us for this essential in-person Masterclass to ensure that you are up to date with the changes to access arrangements for the 2024/25 period. Whether you are new to the role, or are looking for an update, you will leave the day feeling more confident in making applications and managing the whole process from start to finish.
Our expert speakers will guide you through the main changes for this exam period, as well as give a recap on the guidance surrounding the main access arrangements available to you. You will get an essential overview of the assessment process and how best to manage this. With a full session on the application process, including completing Form 8, you will come away feeling more confident that you are able to make successful applications and manage implementation.

FACILITATORS
Sam Garner is a renowned speaker, trainer and author specialising in mental health and SEN. She has been a SENCo in a large secondary school and is a qualified Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and a Child and Adolescent Counsellor. Sam also set up a company providing mental health CBT programmes for schools. She is in high demand to speak at conferences and events and provides in-house training for schools and companies, nationally and internationally. Lauded for her humour and ‘telling it like it is’ approach to mental health, Sam has had her book Mental Health in Education published by Routledge, and regularly writes for several publications with more books in the pipeline for publication.
Nick Lait is Head of Examination Services at the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), where his responsibilities encompass producing the various JCQ documents relating to examination administration, such as the JCQ publications Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments and Instructions for conducting examinations, as well as the construction of the JCQ Common Timetables.
Nick is Chair of the JCQ Special Requirements Committee and provides on-going advice and guidance to schools and colleges, predominately on access arrangements. He has a thorough knowledge of the examination administration system having previously worked with Edexcel for 11 years from 1996-2007 in both UK and International exam operations.
